Weight: 163 pounds.

Amount of chocolate bars in system: 20-24-25. Oh, I lost count!

Amount of coffees in system: 3, what? That’s absurd! Quick drink barrels of coffee with mom immediately!

Work: dreadful! Hours are long and pay is horrible. They pay so little I’m ashamed to go out with friends. One word: terrible!

Dad: hogging bathroom for the 16th time today. God!

Siblings: playing violent video games and threatening to kill each other. In other words: the usual.

Mom: after cleaning the house has called all the neighbors and was convincing everyone to drink coffee with her. Addicted!

Rubina: AKA: Me. I’m currently chilling out in my room listening to music.

Today, I was preparing as I listened to music for my next speed dating meeting. The people coordinating the event told us that there will be a lot of high profile bachelors there so I have to look and feel my best. As I listened to music I looked at myself in the mirror which was on the bedroom door.

“Oh, my God!”

“I have stretch marks all over my stomach and I’m not even pregnant! Great well I guess those candy bars really did do me in.” I frown as I got into jeans and a tank top combo that I bought from H&M recently. Thinking I look smart I head out of the house hoping this time I’ll get lucky.

I hoped to get lucky. Boy was I wrong. The night went like this: I,

Rubina, was sitting confidently at the table when many, many, men approached me. First, there was Robert a total sleazebag. Who I found out had four kids all from different people. To add to that fact in the 3rd minute of our conversation he puts his hand on my fat stretch marked stomach and said; “I hope by the end of tonight your beautiful belly will be fat with my seed.” He wanted to kiss me right there so I turned to the event organizer and yelled; “Next!”

Then a few moments later came a man named, Zach. We had nothing in common and nothing much to talk about so, that was that. Later when I was just turning to leave a man approached me called, Zane. He was tall, dark, and handsome but had a coldness to him I found most disturbing during the few minutes of our general conversation.

Soon, it was ten –o-clock time, to leave. As I thanked the event organizer for the tenth time that night I vowed to myself to never go to one of these meetings ever again. In the end I saw in these meetings falseness and a rushed atmosphere. After meeting a hundred plus men all in over two hours I was exhausted and my heart just wanted to explode at what absolute nonsense the words love and marriage have come to. I wanted to believe in my happily ever after but after deep thought I don’t know if that is even a possibility for me.

“Maybe your love is in another city, Rubina.” My sister Christy declared one night while we were looking at the stars from our little balcony.
